Each year, auditions occur during Week of Welcome which is the week before Fall classes begin. Audition excerpts as well as sign ups for orchestra will be posted by August 1 and will be available online at www.uosymphony.com
For Fall 2025
- Strings auditions will be on Sept. 26-27, 2025. Details, sign-up, and excerpts are linked below. Dr. Jacobs is your contact for questions, djacobs@uoregon.edu
- Wind/brass/percussion auditions are Sept. 25 & 28. Excerpts will be coordinated by the Director of Bands, Dr. Dennis Llinas, dllinas@uoregon.edu
- Non-music majors who play a string instrument are encouraged to sign-up for Campus Orchestra which meets for two hours on Wednesday evening. It is a great way to keep playing at UO and has no audition requirement!
String Audition details
- Date: September 26-27-2025
- Location: Room 190
- Time: Friday 11am-5pm (cello, bass), Saturday 12:30pm-5pm (violin, viola). Sign-ups can be found here.
The audition will consist of the following:
- A one-minute excerpt from a solo/etude of your choice.
- Excerpts will be posted by August 1, and linked here.
